Bridging the Gap: The Amazon and Climate Finance Solutions

The international community faces a substantial and widening financing gap in its efforts to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This panel will bring together key stakeholders—including government representatives, international financial institutions, the private sector, and civil society—to explore actionable solutions and practical pathways for closing this critical finance gap.

COP 30 – Forests, Biodiversity, and Sustainable Development

On June 3rd, experts will discuss the interconnections between climate change, forest protection, and the bioeconomy, with a particular focus on the Amazon. The day will feature two panels: the first will explore the challenges of integrating forests and the Amazon bioeconomy within the context of COP 30, while the second will address how forest protection can contribute to sustainable trade and the transformation of local knowledge and resources into value-added products. These discussions will provide key insights into the role of forests and biodiversity in advancing sustainable development and achieving climate goals.

This encounter will bring together BR and EU speakers from the Amazon Week, government, private representatives and the European Commission, with the aim of facilitating dialogue and collaboration among actors involved in sustainable bioeconomy from the Amazon, including SMEs, NGOs, investors, export/import companies, fair trade networks, government agencies, and researchers. The aim is to generate actionable solutions/recommendations based on experiences, challenges, and opportunities to foster sustainable value chains and policy coherence.

TEDx Amazônia

TEDxAmazônia values ideas that can inspire transformation, connecting with the richness of the region. Each speaker brings a unique perspective, enriching the event with a diversity of thoughts, experiences, and worldviews.

In 2025, Belém will be the epicenter of global climate discussions with the hosting of COP30 and TEDxAmazônia will be the immersive experience that connects innovation, knowledge, and real impact in the heart of the rainforest. 

From June 6 to 8, global leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, and traditional communities will come together in Belém to share transformative solutions.

The Amazon speaks: Imaginaries and Realities

Event and launch of the Brazilian Amazon Atlas, organized by the Heinrich Böll Foundation. This new publication challenges often simplistic and colonial images of the region. It features more than 30 contributions by local voices: indigenous people, quilombolas, river dwellers, researchers, and communicators. The launch ceremony will be followed by a get together.

The Amazon speaks: Imaginaries and Realities

As part of its efforts to raise awareness among young people about the inestimable wealth of the Amazon and the urgent need to protect it, the Embassy of Peru in Belgium, Luxembourg and Mission to the European Union is pleased to invite you to a special screening of the film “Ainbo, Princess of the Amazon”.


This animated film tells the story of Ainbo, a young warrior girl who, with the help of wise and mischievous jungle spirits, embarks on a courageous mission to save her homeland in the heart of the Amazon.
