Voices of the River, Peasant Stories of the Amazon Pearl (documentary here)
In Voices of the River, Peasant Stories of the Amazon Pearl, we tell the story of the Amazon Pearl Peasant Reserve Zone, a territory located in Putumayo, Colombia where our peasant families have been fighting for their dreams for the last 25 years. The path we have walked has fructified with the processes of ecological restoration, environmental conservation, biodiversity monitoring, and work with native bees.
For this reason, we use the cameras to narrate our history, how our families arrived in the territory, and everything we are doing to change to live it with dignity and caring for the nature of which we are part.
In addition, women have been the fundamental pillar of our organization, and now we are the new generations who inherit those achievements and work tirelessly to pay tribute to the efforts of our families.
This short documentary was made by the local communication team of the Perla Amazónica Peasant Reserve Zone and the Association for Integral Sustainable Development of the Perla Amazónica (ADISPA), with the support of the media production company Citurna TV and the Rural Communication Laboratories, within the framework of the Sustainable Amazon for Peace project, financed by the World Environment Facility and executed in Colombia by UNDP under the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and Development Sustainable, and of the environmental institutionality of the Amazon region.
Video duration: 9 minutes and 50 seconds. Subtitles: Spanish, German, English
